Flexible Admission Rates for In-person Dances!
Adult admission: Pay what you can in the range $8 to $15, to help support our dances. Students: $4. Children under 16: $2.

LBDA is dedicated to providing an inclusive community. Your admission/donation helps us provide affordable monthly dances while supporting local musicians, callers, and sound technicians that provide their skills to make these events possible.

Tricia Spencer and Howard Rains are folk music makers and visual artists. Tricia Spencer is a Kansas fiddler and multi-instrumentalist who grew up learning traditional fiddling knee to knee from her grandparents. Howard Rains is an artist and fiddler, guitar player, and singer from Texas–now living in Kansas–who comes from a family rich in music and art making. They met in 2012 and have been collaborating ever since. Both have many decades of experience playing for dances and consider it to be the most important element in understanding the fiddle.

Kaw Creek is Alice Boyle on fiddle/viola and Robert Rosenberg on guitar/banjo/feet. Their goal is to play magical and wonderful tunes from a large variety of sources to inspire the caller and thrill dancers with their energy and power. This duo is half of the band STEAM! and they are familiar faces from the heart of Carp Camp in Winfield.
